Rumors fly that One Direction will play Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee Concert on June 4. The show's organizer, Gary Barlow, says that he hopes to confirm the band's appearance by the end of April; they'd play alongside such heavyweight talents as Paul McCartney, Elton John, Tom Jones, and Ed Sheeran. "Id love to meet Her Royal Highness. And I grew up listening to the Beatles because my dad used to play them over and over again. I still listen to them now. They're quite an inspiration. It's be amazing if Paul McCartney was up for doing something -- I love him. That would be incredible. We've got big plans , but I'm sure anything would be struck out of the diary if an invitation came along."
Unfortunately, conflicts with One Directions U.S. schedule ultimately prevent their inclusion at the event from happening. Aww :(
